This policy explains what Rock the Camp collects, why, and what you can do about it. The site is run by Camp Electric.
What we collect
- Artists: your name, email address, password, and everything you put on your artist profile — artist name, genre, location, photo, biography, and the links you add.
- Fans who vote: your name, your email address, which artist you voted for, and when.
- Everyone: basic technical information such as your IP address, which we use to keep voting fair and the site secure.
Why we collect it
- To run the contest — showing artist profiles, counting votes, and confirming that a vote came from a real email address.
- To email you about the contest, such as a verification link, an approval decision, or the result.
- To stop spam and vote manipulation.
- To send marketing email from Camp Electric or Fender Guitars, but only if you ticked the box asking for it.
Marketing email
Opting in is your choice, and it is never required in order to vote. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops those emails without affecting your votes.
What is public
An approved artist profile is public: the artist name, genre, location, photo, biography, video, and links. Fan names, email addresses, and individual votes are never shown publicly.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We share it only with the services that make the site work — hosting, email delivery, and spam protection — and where the law requires it.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you signed in, to protect forms against abuse, and to remember a fan's browser so the vote form can be prefilled. We do not use advertising cookies.
How long we keep it
Contest data is kept for as long as the contest and its records need it. Votes from an email address that is never confirmed are deleted automatically.
Your choices
You can ask us to correct or delete your information, or ask for a copy of it. Artists can edit their profile at any time from their account.
